6 reasons why mechanics choose air jacks
Air jacks – why are they so popular?
Air jacks are one of the most popular devices in car services. They are ideal for working on cars, vans and even SUVs, lifting machines quickly and stably.
We’re about to discuss 6 specific reasons for choosing them – from their ability to work on different surfaces to their ease of use.
The most important reasons:
1. Lift the car quickly
Air jacks lift vehicles in seconds thanks to pneumatic technology. With an operating pressure of 6-10 bar, the lift very quickly reaches its full height (in the case of our air jacks from 34 cm to 48 cm), which will allow you to start work quickly.
2. For every vehicle – from passenger cars to delivery trucks
Thanks to the different ranges of lifting capacity (in the case of our equipment from 2t to 8t ), air jacks are applicable to both passenger cars and delivery trucks. The REDATS LS-220 model, with a minimum resting height of 14 cm, will not have additional problems with low-slung cars.
3 No more wrestling when lifting the car
Thanks to pneumatics, you don’t get tired when lifting your car. All you have to do is connect the jack to the compressor and start the device. Such a solution is specially useful in car service with a large number of orders, because, as you well know, a tired worker is a slow worker 😉
4. Compact equipment for a small car service (and more!).
Most jack air weigh between 20 and 30 kg (although there are exceptions!) and are compact in size, making them easy to store and transport. For example, our REDATS 2T model weighs 11 kg, so it won’t get in the way and you can easily take it everywhere with you.
5. Cheap to operate – easy to maintain
Air jacks require only basic servicing, such as cleaning the mechanism and checking the valves for leaks. This makes them a cost-effective solution.
6. Uneven surface? Not a problem!
The large, stable wheels and sturdy design allow you to work on a variety of surfaces – from concrete in the car service to uneven surfaces outside.
How to choose the right air jack?
The choice of a air jacks jack depends on a few important factors. Below you will find practical tips to help you match the air jacks to the needs of car service.

Lifting capacity
To begin with, you need to ask yourself one very important question. What cars do you work with most often?
For passenger cars – models with a lifting capacity of up to 2-3 tons, such as REDATS 2T or REDATS 3T, be enough.
For SUVs and vans – models with a lifting capacity of 8 tons, such as REDATS 8T, will provide good stability and productivity.
Lifting height
Maximum height is extremely important for accessing the chassis or suspension.
Cars with low suspension – choose a model with a minimum resting height, such as the 14 cm on the REDATS LS-220.
Larger vehicles – models with a lifting pad, such as the LS-230, allow you to achieve extra centimeters of height (the maximum height of this model is 48 cm)
Size
Let’s be honest. Car service is very often short of space. So, if you are not planning to buy air jacks for crucial and difficult tasks, and would like to have this equipment at your place, bet on more compact options.
Compact size – here we recommend the REDATS 3T. The total length of this air jack is only 45 centimeters, so you will be able to work on it with confidence even in tight places.
